ABOUT THIS PRODUCT
Hair, Skin and Nails Strips are a fast dissolving oral strip delivering 5,000 mcg of biotin with 400 mcg of folate and 20 mcg of vitamin D3, to support normal hair strength, skin health and nail health.* They are for the guy who wants a daily hair, skin and nails supplement without a horse pill or a sugar gummy. One strip on the tongue, let it dissolve, no water needed, up to once a day.
THE SCIENCE
Biotin, 5,000 mcg. Biotin is a B vitamin the body uses in the normal formation of keratin, the protein hair and nails are built from.* That is the honest mechanism, and it comes with a limit: biotin supports normal hair and nail strength where intake is short, and it does nothing extra for a body that already has enough. Most guys are not deficient. The dose is the category standard, and biotin is water soluble, so what your body does not use, it clears.
Folate, 400 mcg, is a B vitamin involved in normal cell formation, which includes the rapidly dividing cells in hair follicles and skin.* Vitamin D3, 20 mcg (cholecalciferol, the form the body makes from sunlight), supports normal skin health and is the vitamin most indoor men are shortest on.*
The strip is a pullulan and cellulose film that dissolves in seconds. It is sweetened with monk fruit extract and steviol glycosides, not cane sugar or corn syrup, and flavored with orange. A typical hair gummy carries 2,500 mcg or less across two pieces plus the sugar it takes to make a gummy a gummy. This is the full dose in one strip with none of that.
WHAT IT WILL NOT DO
It will not bring back a receding hairline, stop hair loss or make hair grow faster than your genetics allow. Biotin does not do that, and the brands that imply it do are selling the deficiency story to men who are not deficient. What it does is cover the nutritional side of hair, skin and nail maintenance so that is not the weak link.* Nails and hair grow slowly, so judge it at 12 weeks, not 12 days, by nail strength and how new growth feels, not by the mirror on day three.
THE STANDARD
Three named nutrients at three printed doses. No proprietary "beauty blend" hiding what is in the strip, no sugar to make the format work, no fairy dusting of collagen or keratin at doses too small to matter. Gluten free, lactose free, allergen free, hormone free, alcohol free. Manufactured in a GMP certified facility in India and distributed in the USA, with the full ingredient list printed so you can check it yourself. Read the full standard.
HOW TO TAKE IT
Place one strip on your tongue and let it dissolve completely before swallowing. Take up to one strip a day, any time, with or without food, no water required. Keep the pack in a bag or wallet, since the strip that gets taken is the one that is with you. Do not exceed one strip a day. If you have bloodwork scheduled, tell your doctor you take biotin, because high dose biotin can interfere with certain lab tests.
DO HAIR, SKIN AND NAILS VITAMINS ACTUALLY WORK?
It depends on where you start. Biotin, folate and vitamin D3 support the body's normal processes for maintaining hair, skin and nails, and a genuine shortfall in any of them can show up as weaker hair or brittle nails.* If your diet already covers these nutrients, a supplement will not push hair or nails past your baseline. It supports normal hair strength and nail health. It does not stop hair loss and it does not treat any skin or nail condition.
HOW MUCH BIOTIN DO YOU ACTUALLY NEED?
The general recommended daily intake for biotin is around 30 mcg for adults. Hair, skin and nails formulas are dosed far higher, in the thousands of micrograms, because biotin is water soluble with a wide margin of safety and high doses are the norm in this category. This strip delivers 5,000 mcg per serving, in line with that standard. Be clear about what that means: a body that is not short on biotin will clear most of it. The dose is there so a real gap gets covered, not because more is proven to do more.
ARE DISSOLVING STRIPS BETTER THAN GUMMIES OR PILLS?
Better for the habit, not for the nutrient. A strip skips the sugar, gelatin and fillers a gummy needs to hold its shape, and it needs no water like a capsule does. Whether the nutrient itself is absorbed differently depends on the ingredient, and we are not going to claim a strip absorbs better. It is a lower sugar, more convenient way to take the same biotin, folate and D3, and convenience is what keeps a daily supplement daily.
CAN YOU TAKE TOO MUCH BIOTIN?
Biotin is water soluble, so the body clears what it does not use, and it has a wide margin of safety. Still, do not exceed the dose on the label. One thing most brands leave off the page: high dose biotin can interfere with certain lab test results, including some hormone and cardiac markers. Tell your doctor you take a biotin supplement before any bloodwork, and stop it beforehand if they ask you to.
